v.1.6.1 JAVA_HOME environment variable

New to Cuba, just starting out. I downloaded studio v.1.6.1. I see the change log for this version states that the “JAVA_HOME environment variable is not required for working with projects in Studio…” However, the download page still states “To use Studio, you need only JDK 7+ and the defined JAVA_HOME environment variable”. Also the content at the “CUBA Studio Installation” link on the download page advises that JAVA_HOME environment variable be defined.

Please advise.

Sorry for the confusion, the website materials and docs are slightly behind the new release. We’ll fix this today, the quick start video - next week.

As for JAVA_HOME, it’s just not necessary. If you set it as described in the docs, it will not harm.
