You are right, using CUBA Studio it’s not trivial to find missing translations. For this purpose we have a small tool, that helps to find gaps in the localization files and apply changes (upload translations) to the corresponding messages_*.properties files.
We will think of a better and easier way to resolve the problem you described in the future.
