I’m quite new to the whole Vaadin idea. Is it possible to have the Portal module as a Vaadin app instead of (or or as well as) Spring?
And if so, is there an example project like this? Or a guide on how to set this up?

We are not planning to add portal modules with Vaadin, now we are investing time to Polymer client and REST API that can be used to create web sites and responsive mobile applications.
