Html report template doesn't work with doctype

Looks like having <!doctype html> as the first line of my html template, as described in the Report Generator documentation, prevents the generation from working. I’m on platform-6.4.1 on MacOS Sierra.
Removing the doctype declaration it seems to work just fine.

The issue occurs when the report is printed in PDF.
