Customer screen for report parameters

A popup window shows up for input of parameter when a report is run from standard report menu. Can we customize that standard popup window to use entity list for example instead of plain field? I understand alternative is to create customer UI from where we can call the report programmatically but I am looking for less customization and use of standard features.

I see one option in report but not sure about usage

Just found the option as below where I have selected the parameter type to List of Entities:

The report is downloaded by default. How can I show the report by default?
