Collaboration in BPM

As we know BPM is a platform that is not just a workflow but a platform where different actors like a human, AI, or systems can collaborate with. At this stage, my expectation is not that high but I want to bring at least an option to let users interact (comments, questions, answers etc. like a chat related to that process execution) so that the while the actors approve or reject at different decision points are more effective avoiding off-line info sharing. This will bring additional room for collaboration across users (actors of the process) and transparency of information sharing in addition to file attachment which is not always meet the info needs.

Is there any process element that we can create to serve the purpose?
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

I am not sure if my question is clear to understand!
This question could be applicable to the commercial product BProc or legacy BPM add-ons.

Hi,
The process-related comments feature is one of the tasks in the backlog, but we didn’t analyze it yet and didn’t schedule for any release. If you could share your detailed vision of what functionality should be there and how this may look from the user perspective, it would be useful.

Hi Max
The idea in BPM collaboration that is practically used in different business process automation is forum like exchange of communications on the same page that any participants (task assignee) can interact with apart which is different from simple comment option at the time of approval/disapproval.

For example, when a workflow is moved to Actor A to Actor B, who may have questions or additional information requirements. Instead of B send an email or off-line communication, he asks that question on the collaborative space which is notified to A automatically so that when A can provide additional details. When this workflow moves to the 3rd actor C, he will be able to see all such collaborative discussion so that everything is transparent to everyone. I hope it helps. We can discuss further when you work on this and feel free to ask any questions.
