Do you use the standard run configuration or it is a Terminal tab of IntelliJ IDEA ?

From the CUBA menu or from run configuration , have the same problem.
Previous image i posted is start from run configuration :

By the way, all log entries are written using UTF-8 encoding and you can easily open app.log file with your favorite text editor.
