Can we change Application Menu to a Side bar ( e.g tree structure)? like items on left side bar in CUBA studio

Hello, I am trying to create a side bar menu as well. I went through this article you referred to earlier, but it does not explain how to exactly bind the menu with the popup button. Could you please shed some light on this. I am using v6.3

In the upcoming version 6.4 there is a special component - SideMenu that works with the standard menu.xml config and has a lot of useful features. The documentation on it will be ready by the end of this week.
